International travel is an exciting and enriching experience that allows individuals to explore the world beyond their borders. It also can provide a unique opportunity to learn about different cultures, traditions, foods and ways of life. Traveling to foreign countries also helps individuals develop new perspectives, broaden their horizons and gain a deeper understanding of global issues.

Costa Rica is a popular destination for international travel due to its stunning natural beauty, beautiful beaches, lush rainforests, and diverse wildlife, rich biodiversity, and friendly locals is a reason why international travel to Costa Rica is popular among tourists who seek adventure, relaxation and eco-tourism experiences. (EXAMPLES BELOW)

Costa Rica is also a leader in eco-tourism and sustainable practices, making it an ideal destination for those who want to support environmentally responsible travel as the country is committed to sustainable tourism practices that preserve its natural resources for future generations; as more than 25% of its land is protected as national parks or reserves.

Costa Rica is a small country located in Central America, bordered by Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south. This small Central American country boasts a diverse biodiversity, stunning landscapes, and a vibrant culture which is why it is a popular tourist location. The country also offers a range of accommodation options from luxury resorts, airbnbs as well as budget-friendly hostels.

Visitors can explore:

· Hike through lush rainforests (guided tours),

· National parks including Corcovado National Park which boasts the largest primary forest on the Pacific coast of Central America.)

· Hike up active volcanoes, (guided tours in Arenal)

· Surf on pristine beaches, (Tamarindo)

· Horseback Riding

· Observe exotic wildlife, (Refugio Animal de Costa Rica)

· Engage in various outdoor activities such as kayaking and ziplining (Monteverde/Ponderosa Adventure Park)

· Art Galleries (San Jose)

· Museums (San Jose)

· Trying new local foods (including things like patacones, gallo pinto (rice and beans), ceviche (raw fish), and comida casado (a traditional meal of rice, beans, meat or fish, salad, and plantains).

There are endless possibilities for exploration and adventure

However, international travel can also present challenges such as language barriers (it is a Spanish speaking country, but I found many people were able to understand English and at least try to help when asked), cultural differences and safety concerns. Not just for Costa Rica but in any international travel it is important for travelers to be prepared and informed before embarking on any international journey. Resorts are usually in safe areas. As well as many hostels and airbnbs are close to main cities but my recommendation is, no matter how safe it is, you are not a local and it would be best to stay in once it gets dark unless you have driving arrangements made, a guide etc

YOU MUST ALSO REALIZE THAT UBER IS ILLEGAL IN COSTA RICA.

YOU WILL NOT GET A TICKET BUT YOUR DRIVER COULD!

SO PLEASE DO NOT KEEP THEM WAITING AT AIRPORTS ETC.

SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT IS USUALLY PREFERRED BY THE DRIVER.

AND DON’T BE SURPRISED IF IN SOME AREAS, THERE ARE NOT MANY UBERS AVAILABLE.

Despite these challenges, the benefits of international travel far outweigh the risks and make it a worthwhile endeavor for anyone seeking personal growth and adventure. Overall, Costa Rica is one of my favorite locations to travel to as it offers a unique opportunities to immerse oneself in new culture, foods, nature and so much more while experiencing the warmth and hospitality of its people.
